Christmas Day lunch

best leche flan out there, i guarantee it

noche BUENA

this one is made by my wife
from Caramel bakeshop, a local sweet joint, this cake is good!

BALUUUUUT... (warning: gross)

if you're a tourist in the Philippines, your trip is nothing 'til you've tasted this delicacy. Balut is basically a fertilized duck (or chicken) egg with a nearly-developed embryo inside that is boiled and eaten in the shell. Like Forrest Gump said, and I modify it, "...box of balut... you'll never know what you gonna get... 5-day old chick or older".
you select and hope the one that you get is a younger chick.. i mean the balut

then you make a little crack on the top and sip that balut juice.
this is a younger one. i could eat this.
but this! good god! i can never eat this.

(new and improved) silvanas

If there's one cookie-type dessert out there that I'd eat over and over, this is it - SILVANAs. These are oval- shaped, thin cookie sized desserts (at least i got the thin-crusted ones, others are thicker), with a thin meringue on either side of a buttercream filling and dusted with crumbed cookies. They are rich, crisp, and buttery all at the same time. Just something to indulge into. this is a delicacy from north of the Philippines

it's not about the FOOD, it's about the FUN
