PIES
not a fan of meat pies, but these (beef and chicken) from Bag of Beans in Tagaytay are quite pleasant
LOCAL italian
it is ironic that one of the best italian foods that i tasted (never been to Italy though) is in Naga City. this italian resto boasts of their traditional wood-fired brick oven in cooking their pizza. this one here is called Capriciosa, a thin-crust bomb that explodes in your mouth
the pasta was cooked perfectly, with an exquisite, elegant taste (whatever that means) |
WEED
i'm not talking about something to smoke, but this sea weeds. i'd hardly eat this tasteful food before but when i learned that this is nutritious, i started eating it. |
the AMBIANCE sets the appetite
everytime you eat, you'll prefer to have it in a beach, or overlooking a volcano, or at some green lushes of the countryside. the setting to enjoy food plays a crucial role in consuming it. some time ago we had dinner in Moon Garden in Tagaytay and the ambiance was just awesome.
the best lechon de leche (suckling pig) i've tasted |
if you have this salad served with this view, you may just down everything |

SEND-OFF food
Every time someone is about to leave the office for "greener pasture", we'd have the same set of food on the table during the send-off party, or in our term, "despidida". Pizza, Pasta, Wings, Ice Cream and Cake. Not so fancy, just 2 flavors of Yellowcab's, but for the ice cream we'd always get chocolate truffles and hazelnut brownie.
the PLAY-SAFE choice
when you don't know what to have, Japanese noodle soup is the safest way to go. this bone-marrow based noodle soup is a delight. potato salad after eliminates the residue in your mouth.

good food and good service do NOT always GO TOGETHER
regardless how good your food is, when coupled with a bad service of waiters, it's like never actually dining at that moment. this happened to me the minute i sat in that Italian restaurant. this pasta and Wagyu steak were amazing but the service sucked ass. |

food stalls in malls (Philippine Delicacies at cheaper prices, yummy too!)
if you are a mall rat in the Philippines, you'll find these local delicacies in store - that is in a form of stalls blocking your way through the groceries. |
